Reviewing Progress on a Landmark Development

H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, conducted a field visit to the Cultural Complex project site at Airport Heights, Muscat.

During the visit, His Highness met with the heads of committees and project work teams and received an update on the progress achieved and the activities underway across the development.

Site Tour and Project Briefing

His Highness inspected various areas of the project and reviewed the work completed on site. Representatives briefed him on the development’s progress, key components and ongoing construction activities.

The visit provided an opportunity to present the coordinated efforts of the client, consultants, contractors and project teams involved in delivering this nationally significant development.

Spread across approximately 400,000 square metres, the development includes three principal institutions: the National Theatre, National Library and National Archives, together with eight additional buildings and supporting facilities. The reported project allocation was OMR 147.8 million.

Once completed, the complex will bring together important national institutions within an integrated destination dedicated to culture, knowledge, arts and public engagement.

The visit represented an important moment for the project teams and highlighted the national importance of the development.
